Summary

Raised as a cold, emotionless "weapon" in a brutal war, a young girl named Violet loses both her arms and her beloved commander, Gilbert. In his final moments, Gilbert tells her, "I love you."

Unable to understand the meaning of these words, the war-torn Violet later becomes an "Auto Memory Doll"—a ghostwriter who pens heartfelt letters for people who cannot express their own feelings.
